Overall I will say I was torn between giving this Xmax Starry dry herb vape a 3 & a 4 star rating.

As far as whether it does the job you want it to, Yes. It works better than expected when it comes to getting good hits out if it that don't feel like weak rips with little vape exhale.
Pack it properly with evenly ground herb, but don't pack it down too tight to where there's little to no air flow throughout it.
Set temp between 380°-395° (slightly above mid-temp, but not quite on high-temp).
I keep the session timer at the default 4mins.
(Any longer or any higher temp than that and you'll start burning the herb too much in my experience).
I get respectably strong vape puffs that give fulfilling exhales without overcooking the herb once I found that "Goldilocks zone".

Downsides:
Battery life last roughly 6-7 heat-ups of 4min sessions.
I usually do 2 bowls a night, so that means I'm recharging it after every 3rd smoke session.
Not horrible, but not great either.
Also, the secondary metal "dosage" chamber they give you to pack a back up bowl for quick follow-up sessions on the go doesn't work as well as when you just pack the herb directly into the main chamber. It fails to heat through the metal efficiently enough to get any significant vapage from it..yet it'll still manage to cook your herb to a brown crisp within it.
(Be careful removing it from the main chamber as it'll be scorching hot to the touch!)
So I avoid using it anymore and just stick to packing the main chamber instead & constantly clean it out with a q-tip between bowls.

Also, random side note.. it's called "Duel Usage", but idk what the secondary use is that it's claiming it does..? Are they referring to the secondary "dosage" chamber? Because that's not exactly a second capability.
Usually when vapes say that it means you can switch between dry herb & concentrates.
But you can't do that with this one..
So I'm confused as to how it falls under "duel-usage".

Finally, I've come to dislike the little rubber filter thing that clogs up the suction of the mouthpiece from the inside of the magnetic cap..so I removed it and replaced it with the detachable metal lid from the portable dosage chamber which now ables it to have better airflow for better hits, yet still more efficiently manages to prevent herb from clogging or getting sucked up through the straw.

Again, overall I'd say this is an above average functioning dry herb vape that'll likely out-perform any others in or below it's price range once you get a feel for how to properly use it.
In addition, I doubt any of the more fancy/expensive options on the market can do all That much better than this does, unless you spring for the Volcano brand vapes, which are exponentially more expensive for probably barely noticeable improvements.

I was sceptical about dry-herb vapes for over a decade due to their lack of ability to perform/function to my ideal standards, but after over a week of consistent usage of the Xmax, if i had to suggest one to any curious/hesitant buyers currently in the market, I'd have to recommend this one.
Not perfect, but better than most.
